NMSU Teaching Academy is a resource for lifelong learning

The Teaching Academy expresses its gratitude to its donors on behalf of all those educators and students who have benefited from your generosity.

The Teaching Academy hosts a variety of engaging instructors to provide training, mentoring, and networking opportunities for all NMSU employees. Its goals are to support teachers, improve learning, advance leaders, enhance careers, foster diversity, and build community. The Academy helps NMSU educators develop extraordinary teaching lives embedded in exceptional careers.

The Teaching Academy offers over 12,000 hours of training per year - for free. The most popular offerings are one-time workshops, on topics such as "Crucial Conversations" and "Teaching Critical Thinking."

The Teaching Academy depends on the financial contributions of their participants to host nationally known speakers. In 2014-15, all such speakers were made possible by donors. Topics included public speaking, listening, crucial conversations, active learning, teaching study skills, team-based learning, teaching with role-playing, and teaching critical thinking.
