NMSU Alumni Association Awards

The New Mexico State University Alumni Association bestows three awards:

The Distinguished Alumni Award

For the past 61 years, the NMSU Alumni Association has presented accomplished alumni with the association’s highest honor—the Distinguished Alumni Award

This award carries the tradition of excellence NMSU has upheld throughout the years, and each Distinguished Alumni is selected based on personal accomplishment, professional achievement, and charitable service.  Since the award's inception in 1956, NMSU has recognized over 400 alumni as standouts in their community, university, and career fields.

The James F. Cole Memorial Award for Service

The James F. Cole Memorial Award for Service is presented to NMSU alumni who have demonstrated outstanding university involvement and civic, humanitarian, and professional service. This prestigious award also recognizes alumni who are active members of the NMSU Alumni Association.

The Outstanding Graduate Award

The NMSU Alumni Association recognizes students who excel in overall academic performance, leadership, and social responsibility during their time as a student with the Outstanding Graduate Award

The NMSU Alumni Association honors a graduate from International and Border Programs, a graduate from each academic college, a master’s graduate, and a doctoral graduate from the Graduate School. All honorees have been selected by their respective colleges and programs as outstanding graduates.  This is a very special honor that awards the recipients for achieving high academic standards and a high level of involvement in the community.  These outstanding individuals are leaders and academically successful students. This notable award carries the tradition of excellence NMSU has upheld throughout the years.
